Cane HeadSabitgarh Sugar Unit
The journey has been pivotal in my growth, shaping me as a leader and instilling resilience and empathy at the core of who I am.
My journey at Triveni began in November 2013 taking charge of cane development at the Sabitgarh Sugar Unit. At the time, the challenges were immense, as the cane area was limited, the varietal composition was weak, and farmers' interest in cultivation was low.
Through sustained farmer engagement, strategic planning, and the adoption of improved agronomic practices, we reached a landmark in 2020-21 by crossing 1 crore quintals of cane crushing—a benchmark we have successfully upheld ever since. This success led to my transition into the role of the Cane Head of the unit, where I now guide teams and mentor young officers to contribute meaningfully to our shared goals.
One of the most impactful initiatives I led was improving varietal composition and introducing scientific practices like trench planting, ratoon management, and intercropping. These efforts not only enhanced yields but also improved farmer incomes and secured a sustainable cane supply for the mill. Leveraging innovation, we also implemented GIS-based planning and digital monitoring tools to optimise resources and track progress effectively.
The journey has been pivotal in my growth, shaping me as a leader and instilling resilience and empathy at the core of who I am. What makes this path truly rewarding is Triveni's culture of innovation, trust, and a farmer-first approach—creating impact that matters every day.
