Incorporated on July 27, 1932 under the Companies Act, 1913 as The Ganga Sugar Corporation Limited.
Sugar Business: Khatauli sugar plant acquired.
Booker Brothers, McConnell and Co, in partnership with the Sawhney Family, established Triveni Engineering Works to manufacture sugar machinery under George Fletcher and Duncan Stewart Licences. The manufacturing facility was set up at Naini near Allahabad in 1961.
Mr. K.L. Sawhney was elected Chairman, and went on to lead the organisation for the next 29 years.
Turbine Business: First Steam turbine was delivered.
Sugar Business: The Ramkola Sugar Mills Company Ltd. merged with The Ganga Sugar Corporation Ltd and the Company acquired the sugar unit at Ramkola, District Padrauna (now Khushi Nagar) in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Sugar Business: Upper India Sugar Mills Ltd. merged into Triveni Engineering Works Ltd., which had sugar plant machinery & steam turbine manufacturing at Allahabad and a sugar plant at Khatauli.
Dredging Business: United Shippers & Dredgers (P) Ltd. was set up for the business of dredging,
Turbine Business: Initiated setting up of a manufacturing unit at Bangalore.
Ganga Sugar Corporation Limited was renamed Gangeshwar Limited.
Turbine Business: Despatch of first steam turbine from our new manufacturing facility at Bangalore.
Project Division: Started operations at Mathura (UP) to manufacture Solid-Liquid separation equipment and also plant machinery for Sugar Plants.
Power Transmission Business: To cater to captive consumption, a gear unit was built in Mysore.
Project Division: Started manufacturing Coal & Mineral Beneficiation Plants and machinery.
Power Transmission Business: M/s Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Bangalore, placed a large order resulting in workshop expansion and the installation of new machines at the Gear Unit.
Sugar Business: In collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Government's sugarcane development department, the Khatauli unit began a sugarcane development programme in 31 villages in the gate area.
Sugar Business: The crushing capacity of the Khatauli sugar plant was increased from 500 to 2300 Tonnes Cane per Day (TCD), with a licence for further expansion to 3600 TCD.
Power Transmission Business: An industrial engineering department was established to improve production quality and quantity.
Sugar Business: A new mill in Khatauli began operations in October.
Project Division: Commissioned country’s first mobile Rock Phosphate Beneficiation plant on Trailers for RSMML, Udaipur.
Power Transmission Business: The first gearbox of a non-captive steam turbine was delivered to an OEM.
Turbine Business: For the first time, the Indian Navy ordered steam turbines made in India for use on their warships, and Triveni designed and successfully built steam turbines for the Indian Navy.
Turbine Business: First retrofit supply was made to the shipping industry for crude oil pump turbine gearset.
Project Division: Secured first order for Fine Coal Beneficiation Plant on turnkey basis Dugda for Coal India Limited.
Power Transmission Business: First Hydel gearbox was shipped to the site.
Project Division: Commenced operations in Industrial Water & Wastewater Treatment space.
Secured first order for Mineral Beneficiation Plant involving Copper Floatation plant for Malanjkhand Copper mines, Madhya Pradesh.
Turbine Business:
First steam turbine in
co-generation application was exported.
Project Division: Secured order for country’s largest Industrial Wastewater Treatment plant of 182 MLD Capacity from Vizag Steel Plant, Andhra Pradesh.
Project Division: Commenced operations in Municipal Water & Wastewater treatment space.
Sugar Business: Khatauli became the first unit in North India to use a computerised system to implement cane weighment on electronic weight bridges.
Project Division: Successfully installed one of the largest wastewater treatment plants in India, constructed on turnkey basis for Vizag Steel Plant with capacity of 182 MLD. Commenced operations in Mini Micro Hydro Power Plants and machinery.
The National Productivity Council of India awarded the Company a "Certificate of Merit" for outstanding performance during the 1987-88 season. Hon'ble Shri J. Vengala Rao, then Minister of Industries, Govt. of India, and President of NPC, presented the award.
Project Division: Secured first order for Sand beneficiation Plant at Lalapur (UP) for UP State Mineral Development Corporation (UPSMDC).
Mr. Puran Chand Sawhney was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Project Division: Secured first order on turnkey basis for Municipal Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for Delhi city at Coronation Pillar site from Delhi government.
Sugar Business: Khatauli sugar unit was modernised through implementation of sulphitation process from double carbonation process.
Sugar Business: Deoband sugar unit capacity was increased to 5000 TCD and Ramkola sugar unit capacity to 2500 TCD.
Sugar Business: Sugarcane crushing capacity at Khatauli sugar unit was expanded to 10000 TCD.
Mr. Dhruv M. Sawhney was appointed Chairman of the Company.
Sugar Business: Deoband sugar unit crushing capacity was extended to 10000 TCD.
Project Division: Secured order on turnkey basis for Raw Water Treatment Plant from NTPC for their 4 X 500 MW Vindhyachal Thermal Power Plant.
Project Division: Commissioned first turnkey plant for Mini Micro Hydro turbines on Abohar canal in Ludhiana for Punjab Energy Development Authority (PEDA), Chandigarh.
Turbine Business: First Back Pressure steam turbine generator (STG) set order was successfully commissioned with 65 Ata/480 Deg C.
Power Transmission Business: First 6 MW gas turbine gearbox exported to USA.

Water Business: Water Division commenced operations exclusively for Water & Wastewater treatment markets including for High Purity Water systems.
The company went public on the stock exchanges on December 13, 2005, at a stock price of Rs 48 per share, with BSE code 532356 and NSE code TRIVENI.
Power Business: In September, a co-generation plant at Khatauli with power generation capacity of 23 MW was commissioned.
Power Transmission Business: Renewal of High speed agreement and with enhanced local manufacturing up to 25MW added geographies by Gears business
Water Business: Successfully installed the first EDI job with multi-pass RO in Indian market for the Boiler Feed Water Treatment System of 85 m3/hr capacity for Khatauli Co-generation.
Sugar Business: Commissioned its fourth sugar mill at Sabitgarh in western Uttar Pradesh with a crushing capacity of 7,000 TCD in January.
In December, the fifth sugar mill was commissioned at Chandanpur in western Uttar Pradesh with a crushing capacity of 6,000 TCD.
Power Transmission Business: The first integrally geared 37935 rpm compressor was developed for an indigenously designed/manufactured gearbox for a public sector engineering conglomerate.
Sugar Business: The sixth sugar mill was commissioned at Rani Nangal in western Uttar Pradesh with a crushing capacity of 5,500 TCD, and the 7th was commissioned at Milak Narayanpur in western Uttar Pradesh with a crushing capacity of 6,000 TCD. A distillery was commissioned in Muzaffarnagar, with a capacity of 160 kiloliters per day (KLPD).
Water Business: Awarded as the largest seawater RO (including PT) based boiler feed water treatment plant for UPCL's 2X600 MW TPP in Udupi, Karnataka (LANCO Group).
Water Business: Secured first order on turnkey basis for 30 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant with Nutrient Removal from Hyderabad Municipal Development Authority (HMDA).
Power Transmission Business: First locally manufactured drop-in replacement of Frame-6 gear box at for India's leading petrochemical company
Water Business: Successfully commissioned and put in operation the Sea Water RO Desalination Plant of 16.2 MLD, at Udupi Power Corp Ltd. This project was also awarded as "Desalination Project of the Year" by UNESCO/PHDCCI/Water Digest.
Water Business: Secured order on turnkey basis for India’s largest Ultrafiltration (UF) based Drinking Water Treatment Plant on Yamuna water from UP Jal Nigam, Agra.
Turbine Business: Triveni's steam turbine business was demerged into a separate company (Triveni Turbine Limited (TTL).
Water Business: Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd placed an order for a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Effluent Treatment Plant for two 600 MW Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plants (HPGCL).
Sugar Business: Set up its first sugar refinery with a capacity of 600 TPD at Sabitgarh sugar unit for manufacturing refined sugar.
Power Business: Installed incidental co-generation plants at Chandanpur and Milak Narayanpur sugar units.
Water Business: Secured first order for UF-RO based Zero Liquid Discharge system from NTPC for their 3 X 500 MW Thermal Power Plant at Jhajjar (Haryana).Power Transmission Business: For the first time, the Company commissioned indigenously manufactured drop-in replacement unit for LM6000 Gas Turbine load gearbox for India's leading petrochemical company.
In a New Product Development – 850 KW Planetary Gearbox was supplied for sugar mill drive application.
Sugar Business: Khatauli refinery was set up with a capacity of 1400 TPD.
Water Business: Secured first order on turnkey basis for complete Water treatment system including UF-RO based Boiler Feed Water from NTPC for their 3 X 800 MW Kudgi Super Critical Thermal Power Plant.
Power Business: The Company installed an incidental co-generation plant at Sabitgarh.
Water Business: Water Treatment plant package was developed for 2x800 MW Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-I for NTPC Ltd., Noida.
Water Business: PT & DM Plant was developed for 2x600 MW Thermal Power Plant, Phase-I, Anuppur, MP for MB Power for Lanco Infratech Ltd., Gurgaon.
Water Business: Secured first order for 100 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant with Biogas based Power generation system at Gurgaon from Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA).
Secured order for long term Operation & Maintenance (O&M) for Municipal Utilities covering Water and Sewerage including upgradation of existing Assets for city of Bathinda from Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Board (PWSSB).
Power Transmission Business: Gear unit won the CII EXIM Bank Award for the third time for Business Excellence 2016 – Strong commitment to Excellence.
2nd assembly bay and highly mechanized large size paint booth were added at Mysore Gears facility.
Water Business: Won a project for design, construction, O&M of primary treatment works at Dehra (Ghaziabad) & 210 MLD water treatment plant at Palla (Greater Noida).
It also won allied works under 85 Cusec Ganga Jal Project for Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority.
Water Business: Secured a contract for construction of water supply and sewerage facilities on the Island of Naifaru, and a sewerage facility on the Island of Veymandoo, Maldives for Lucky Exports / LE - Triveni JV.
Defence Business: Triveni was selected as indigenous supplier for propulsion gearboxes for Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
Power Transmission Business:
Modern infrastructure was added to the gears unit:
- Addition of SCADA control and monitoring for in-house heat treatment facility
Water Business: secured order for one of largest Sewage Pumping Stations of 210 MLD in Koramangala area of Bengaluru from Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Board (BWSSB).
Power Transmission Business: 40,000 MW Gears capacity installed globally
Water Business: Secured order for 18 MLD UF-RO based Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) for Textile cluster of Balotra Industrial area (Rajasthan) from their Industry association.
Secured largest order for 205 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant at Kondli site including extensive Biogas power generation system in Delhi city from Delhi Jal Board (DJB).
Secured first PPP job for Mathura city (UP) from UP Jal Nigam under one-city-one-operator program under Namami Gange schemes of Ministry of Jal Shakti through National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG).
Power Transmission Business: ISO-45001:2018 (OHSAS) certification was awarded to the Power Transmission Business. The 500th gearbox was dispatched for the thermal project for booster pump drive. Highest power indigenous 63.5MW STG Gearbox for installation in West Africa.
Alcohol Business: 160KLPD distillery was commissioned at Sabitgarh.
Alcohol Business: Hand Sanitizers manufacturing facility was set up at Muzaffarnagar distillery.
Power Transmission Business: PTB notched a milestone with the installation of a total of 34,000 MW capacity globally.
Power Transmission Business: Another milestone was achieved with a total of 10000 new gearboxes supplied globally to around 600 customers. Completed retrofitting, replacement, overhauling of 1000+ gearboxes for 80+ global brands.
IMIL Business: Alcoholic beverages vertical, part of the distillery operating segment, started producing Indian Made Indian Liquor at its bottling facility in the premises of its existing distillery in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, to facilitate forward integration of distillery operations.
Triveni Brands: The Company relaunched Shagun with brand new packaging and created plans to launch additional brand such as Triveni Sugar. The Company expanded its Private Label business by adding more customers and became the No. 1 contract manufacturing partner for sugar in North India.
Power Transmission Business: The Company signed a 10-year business agreement with GEAE Technology USA to locally manufacture the LM2500 gas turbine base and enclosure .
Alcohol Business: The Company commenced a new multi-feed distillery, with a production capacity of 160 KLPD (Kilo liter Per day) at Milak Narayanpur, Uttar Pradesh, later expanded to 200 KLPD. Expanded existing distilleries at Sabitgarh & Muzaffarnagar (in Uttar Pradesh) to operate at 200 KLPD each. The Company also commissioned a new 60 KLPD grain-based distillery at the existing distillery complex at Muzaffarnagar. With this, the total distillation capacity of the Company has been increased to 660 KLPD.
Triveni Turbines:
On September 21, 2022, Triveni Engineering and Industries Limited has divested its entire 21.85% stake in Triveni Turbine Limited worth Rs. 1,609 crore.
During the year, the Company announced a buyback resulting in a record distribution of ₹800 crore to the shareholders. Buyback was completed in March 2023.
Triveni Sports Private Limited (TSPL) through its franchise, Triveni Continental Kings (TCK) embarked on an extraordinary journey by becoming the maiden champions of the Global Chess League. This is a sports joint venture of Triveni Engineering & Industries Limited (TEIL) and Triveni Turbine Limited (TTL), announced its presence in sports with the Global Chess League.
Power Transmission Business: First High Power (27.5 MW) Compressor Gearbox order from Overseas.
Water Business: Maldives - Triveni completed and handed over four out of six islands to Govt. of Maldives project and operations commenced for these plants. Triveni's scope for Water & Sewerage facilities inter-alia including RO treatment system, distribution pipeline network, sewerage pipelines, disposal line terminating into sea and household connections for package-6 in Maldives. These four islands have been commissioned and handed over to operation after successful testing & commissioning of entire facilities.

The Company announced the upgrade of its long-term rating to ICRA AA+ (Stable) from ICRA AA (Stable) and reaffirmed short-term rating of ICRA A1+ for the Company's bank facilities of ₹3110.37 crore (enhanced from ₹2510.37 crore). This upgrade holds significant value and acknowledges the Company's strong financial foundation.
