Overview
Ramkola Unit is installed in the year 1931 32 with a capacity of
600 TCD and it has started its commercial production during 1932
33 season.The unit has gone for expansion during the year 1957 and
increased its capacity from 600 TCD to 1500 TCD. The unit has further
expended its capacity from 1500 TCD to 2500 TCD during 1988-91.
The company proposes to undertake modernization scheme at its Ramkola
in order to increase the efficiency of the plant and reduced
bottle-necking in the process. The cane crushing capacity of both
Ramkola & Deoband unit combine was increased from 5800 TCD to 7500
TCD in the year 1992-93. The unit has not only increased the capacity of
the plant but also changed the manufacturing process from carbonation to
sulphitation. At present Ramkola plant's existing capacity is being
increased to 6500 TCD. This expansion will be complete before the
commencement of the season 2006 - 07. The quality of sugar of the plant
have also been remarkably improved.
