strategic alliance with LUFKIN is a necessity for sustaining competitive
advantage and creating customer value. Aside from the explicit strategic
and operational motives, learning in order to sustain competitive edge
in the marketplace served as a primary motivation for this alliance
formation.
We signed a License tie-up with LUFKIN, in 1998 which has enabled us to
position ourselves as the sole Indian supplier in India for gearboxes
upto 70 MW.
With successful execution and references built up, the agreement has
been enhanced to cover the following power ranges and territory.
Triveni manufactures gearboxes with LUFKIN technology for products
mentioned below:
- Gears and Gearboxes using through hardened and Case Carburised
technology for steam turbine drives between 7.5 MW to 25 MW.
- Gears and Gearboxes upto 7.5 MW for Compressor drives
- Accessory gearboxes using carburized and through hardened gears
for steam turbine and gas turbines upto 1.5 MW
- Retrofitting of gearboxes between 7.5 to 25 MW
- Installations and after sales services in the above range.
Joint Manufacturing Concept, has been a successful strategy offered
to the market by Triveni-LUFKIN, wherein critical rotating parts are
sourced from LUFKIN and non rotating accessories like: Casings, Bearings
and other parts are manufactured by Triveni as per LUFKIN design,
assembled with the rotating parts and tested at Mysore. This gives the
advantage of achieving the best of the design with localized service at
competitive prices.
The JMP covers the following ranges:
- Gears and gearboxes using carburized and through hardened
technology for steam turbines above 25 MW
- All gearboxes above 150 m/s Peripheral velocities, including over
speed tests
- All gearboxes and gearsets for compressors above 7.5 MW
- Retrofitting of gears and gearboxes in the above range
Triveni also has the selling agency with LUFKIN for the
applications in Load gearboxes for Frame 3, 5, and 6 or
equivalent for gas turbines and Retrofitting of these gearboxes.
