Moving Bed Bio-Reactor (MBBR)

The Moving Bed Bio Reactor (MBBR) process utilise the attached bio-film and provides smaller footprint solution for carbonaceous, nitrification, C+N or in anoxic mode for de-nitrification treatment with lower capital and operating costs. The suspended biomass carriers are designed to create a large surface area for biofilm growth.  Benefits include an enhanced biological wastewater treatment process without increasing the plant footprint. MBBR tanks are equipped with diffused aeration system, carriers and carrier retaining mesh at the outlet. The biomass carriers are mixed by unique airlift hydraulics, using the process air supplied through diffusers arranged on the basin floor. MBBR process is ideally suited for retrofit/upgrade of existing installation with minimum changes in the existing setup.
